Senior Game Artist

The Role
Working closely with the lead artist, the Senior Game Artist will drive the creation of best in class game art for our cosy, for good casual games. Joining a small, independent & hands-on art team, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a large impact on the visual direction of the game. As this is game art generalist role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to create a variety of game assets and acts as a compliment to our other specialist artists.
Collaborate with the art lead & design team to create a variety of 2D & 3D art assets, for example environment, characters, core gameplay icons, art and illustrations for our games.
Collaborate with design and production to improve the quality of the art and experience of the game for our player
Prepare final in game quality game art assets & implement them in Unity.
Collaborate with the production and art teams to ensure accurate estimations & smooth feature delivery.
Collaborate with internal and external artists, supporting the art lead to break down tasks, provide feedback and maintain our high quality bar.
Your skills and experience
The successful candidate will have an appealing, stylized portfolio that demonstrates experience in game art, both concept art & final.
Minimum of 5 years working as a game artist in a relevant industry, mobile games a plus.
Outstanding portfolio demonstrating skills in game art with a proven track record in the creation of inviting & engaging casual games.
Excellent understanding of art fundamentals including exceptional visual language, composition & design skills, strong understanding and use of colour
Creative & visual problem solver with a positive attitude
Production mindset, ensuring art serves the game design requirements, delivered on time, and at a high quality.
Great communication & organisational skills who is comfortable working remotely or in person with a variety of team members and disciplines.
Experience implementing game art in Unity or similar game engine
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
Additional bonus skills
While these skills are not essential, they are preferred.
Minimum of 3 years working as a senior game artist in a relevant industry
Experience in casual mobile game development
Experience working on merge or puzzle games
Experience in related visual fields particularly in UI or animation
Understanding of mobile game technical constraints, optimisation & implementation.
Passion for game development
Experience with collaborating with external development and outsourcing teams
